Epee League Report.

Last Thursday saw the fourth of six epee league nights and the evening can be summed up in three fights.

Blake topped the poule narrowly defeating Paul (10:8), Ross and Adam (10:9), but it was the Adam vs Blake bout which saw the best epee in my opinion. Blake took an early, dominating lead with some excellent wrist hits, but Adam clawed his way back and briefly into the lead, before Blake reasserted himself and finished on a double. The fighting travelled back and forth along the piste and both fencers truly enjoyed the contest.

Lauren vs Paul saw Lauren winning on swordpoint, her first epee victory. The crouching attacks seem to pay off and Paul's continued attacks worked well for him. It was a bout of (a lot of) movement, parries and diagonal actions.

Wendy overcame Ross (10:9) to secure her second victory of the evening in another hard fought bout. Wendy brought point control and wrist hits to the bout, whilst Ross had some success with sabre cuts.

Final four standings were decided on indicators.
