Epee League 03/12/2020

The third epee league of the season saw eleven fencers take to the piste.

Poule one was won by Paul with a clean sweep of victories. Blake and Wendy will be moving down to poule two. Adam, Luke and Jamie's positions were established on indicators and three victories apiece. Jamie vs Luke finished 10:4 in Jamie's favour and Adam fought Wendy to a 10:0 win that proved decisive indicator wise and placed Adam second on the night, followed by Jamie and then Luke. A standout fight was Luke vs Blake 10:8 which displayed a huge amount of footwork, counter ripostes and close quarter hits.

The very first bout in poule two was Eli vs Meyrick, the result being 10:8 to Eli. She went on to secure first place with four victories although her bout with Fiona and herself was close; the fight ran to time and ended 9:8 in Eli's favour. Rosie only lost one bout (to Eli 10:9) so will join Eli in poule one. Both returning fencers, Fiona beat Ester 10:4 for her sole victory.

Currently in the overall standings Adam leads with 298 over Luke's 292. Blake is third with 289. Wendy (288) is narrowly leading Eli 287. Everybody else has missed an evening. Ultimately only six of the seven nights score will count, so it is all to play for.
