Epée League Report

The last epee league night of the 2017 - 2018 season initially saw 8 fencers for a mammoth poule that then dropped to 6 in the opening moments. Having been fought over two pistes we completed all the bouts within the Beau Sejour time-frame without having to request some extra time, which was a first for the season. Quite a feat considering the majority of bouts battled in the second period of time.

The very welcome surprise was the addition of Elina who joined the league for the first time and wasn't aware of what she had let herself in for; re the number of fights, timed length or the turn around/rest time. Her first two bouts went to sword point and both Wendy and Ross G had to pull out something special in order to take the victory. Elina place 6th overall but those two missed points would have placed her 3rd!

Kalum's victory over Ross G (10:8) saw him place 2nd to Ross's 3rd.

Wendy was most pleased to have beaten Paul (10:7) as the scoreline seesawed throughout the bout, and that made the difference between Wendy placing 4th and Paul 5th.

Adam won all his fights with Paul putting up the best competition (10:6).
